Sea To Sky SPC-203 is an acidic product environmentally based from water, alcohol and a surfactant blend. It is designed to remove alkylyds, enamels, polyureas , polyurethanes and high solid epoxies. SPC-203 is supplied in gel form for dipping. It reduces health and safety risk as it is non-flammable, non-toxic and replaces other chlorinated and caustic products. SPC-203 is blue in colour to enhance visibility during application which assists in the reduction of time and product wastage.

  • industrial floors
  • exteriors of buildings
  • roofs etc

Fast Acting

SPC-203 is a fast acting residue remover. It penetrates through the residue layers, and breaks the bond between the solid surface and the residue. As a result the residue will separate from the surface. Performance time will depend on the nature and number of the residue, their thickness and the ambient temperature. If the temperature of the surface to be cleaned is elevated the removal of the residue can be dramatically reduced. At lower temperatures, the process can last longer.

Easy to Use

SPC-203 is preferable sprayed on the desired surfaces by utilizing an airless sprayer but can also be applied by brush or roller on smaller sections. Allow SPC-203 to lift the residue completely before removing with water pressure or scraper.

Reduces Health and Enviromental Risks

SPC-203 is designed to minimise health and environmental risks. It is non carcinogenic and contains no toxic elements. It also reduces the amount of hazardous waste generated. SPC-203 is a water based product which is acid activated. Although containing very small amounts of acid, wearing protective gloves and goggles or face protection is recommended (for details, read the Safety Data Sheet)

Compatablity

DO NOT allow SPC-203 to be extended contact with rubber and plastics.

Directions of Use

When applied to the surface, SPC-203 breaks the bond between the solid substrate and the residues. Sometimes, when working with multiple layers or combinations of various residues, re-application of SPC-203 may be required.

Masking - Prior to applying the SPC-203, all area that are not subject to cleaning should be masked with polyethylene sheeting and taped down with adhesive tape. Plastics, rubber, fiberglass, etc should also be masked.

Teasing Small Areas - SPC-203 can be applied by pouring and spreading with a brush or spatula. Avoid having a layer of SPC-203 that is too thin. If ambient temperatures are high or if in direct exposure to the sun, the product can be subject to premature drying. This can be avoided by covering the application area with polyethylene plastic sheeting. If ambient temperatures are below 10 Celsius, covering the application areas with polyethylene may accelerate and improve the bond breaking and residue removal.

Large Area Applications - Efficient application to large areas, can be accomplished by spraying SPC-203. The spraying is done directly from the orginal container. The equipment needed includes a conventional airless sprayer with a nozzle tip preferably 0.021 or larger. Wearing protective gloves and goggles or face protection is recommended.

Coverage - The most economical method for applying SPC-203 is by spraying. The product should be applied until the residue to be removed is no longer visible. Usually one application and a coverage of 1L per m2 is sufficient. Testing a small area prior to commencing a large project will provide with accurate information regarding the consumption and duration required for complete residue removal.

Dwell Time - Depending on the number of residue layers, SPC-203 may require 2 to 8 hours before the residue can be completely removed. The area should be inspected to see if re-application of the SPC-203 is needed.

Removal of the Loosened residue - When the bond between the residue and the substrate has been broken, the residue can be easily removed by high pressure water, squeegee or scraper.
